A page that sends you somewhere else

Lotto and tiers

More people search for Ghanaian lottery results than for everything else on this site put together. We do not have them, we are not going to publish them, and this page exists to say that plainly rather than to keep somebody reading.

Where the results actually are

The National Lottery Authority runs the national game and publishes its own draws. That is the source. Any other page showing a winning number is a copy of it, made at some moment in the past, by somebody with no obligation to update it.

Go to the National Lottery Authority

That link earns us nothing. It is not a commercial arrangement, it is not tracked as one, and it goes straight out rather than through the exit page the bookmaker links on this site use.

Why there is no results page here

A results page is only worth reading if it is right this week. Publishing one without a feed means typing numbers in by hand, which works for about a fortnight, and then the page goes on standing there being confidently wrong for as long as anybody visits it. The failure is silent, it looks exactly like a working page, and the reader who is harmed by it is the one who trusted it most.

There is a commercial version of the same argument and it is worth admitting. A page like that would earn traffic. It would also be the single least defensible thing on this site, on a publication whose whole position is that a claim should be traceable to somebody who actually knows.

What the bands do and do not reach

The 18 questions behind every band on this site are questions about a bookmaker: what its cashier publishes, whether its lobby can be counted, whether the playthrough on its offer is readable, whether there is a person to call. A national draw has none of those things. Running the sheet against it would produce a column of "does not apply" and a band that measured nothing, so lottery is outside the rule rather than badly served by it.

Two of the thirteen registered books do run their own pool and jackpot products alongside the sportsbook, and those sit inside the ordinary sheet like anything else they publish. They are a bookmaker's product rather than the national draw, and the two should not be confused: one is licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana, the other by the National Lottery Authority.

About lottery in Ghana

Do you publish lotto results?
No, and we do not intend to. We have no feed from the draw operator, and a results page that is correct on the day it is written and wrong every week afterwards is worse than an empty one, because somebody checks a number against it and believes the answer.
Where do the official results come from?
The National Lottery Authority runs the national game and publishes its own draws. Its site is the source, and every other page carrying those numbers is a copy of it made at some point in the past.
Why do the tiers on this site not cover lottery?
Because the 18 questions the bands are built from are questions about a bookmaker: a cashier, a lobby, an offer’s playthrough, a support line. A national draw has none of those and answering "not applicable" 18 times would be a grade about nothing. The rule is here.
Is lottery licensed by the same body as betting?
No. Betting sits with the Gaming Commission of Ghana and the national lottery sits with the National Lottery Authority. They are separate bodies with separate registers, which is why a lottery product never appears on the betting register this site is built from.
